Interview with Robin from RobinsFlight

Tell us a bit about yourself

My name is Robin, which is part of why my shop is RobinsFlight. I live in Livonia (Detroit area), Michigan, USA. I sell crocheted bags and purses that are fully lined with fabric and have nice extras like zipper pockets. I'm a stay at home mom of 2 wonderful kids.

What makes you became an artist?

I've been crocheting and sewing off and on since I was a kid. As an adult, I made afghans, but then moved to smaller items. After making a few bags, I started lining them to make them more useful. It's a hobby that gives me a creative outlet, and I decided to start selling them as an excuse to be able to make more.

When did you start selling at ETSY?

Almost exactly a year ago.

What is your favourite product from your shop and why?

The espresso and cream belted pleat bottom bag. I use a larger version of it every day. It has a classic look, but the crochet gives is a uniqueness that isn't too overstated.

How do you promote your work?

That's my weak point. I post on the forums, I do have a Facebook page, I try to get on blogs like this, and I hand out cards when people comment on my bags.

Where else can we find your products other than ETSY?
