Tell us a bit about yourself My name is Samantha. I own a handmade silk gift shop called Design Hut. We’re located in the suburb of Chicago. Our shop provides high quality silk jewelry boxes, silk purses, silk pillow and others hand-made silk products. We also design and sell designer stationary.
What makes you became an artist?
A lot of ideas always run through my head, especially how to make products better with design. When I was in second grade, for example, I designed and made my own earrings and purses.
When did you start selling at ETSY?
My shop started on ETSY on June of 2007.
What is your favorite product from your shop and why?
My favorite item in the shop has to be the red cherry blossoms silk jewelry box. Because the color of red dupioni silk in the background is very vivid, it brings out the cherry blossoms design very nicely.
How do you promote your work?
We mainly promote our work through Etsy, magazine ads and through design blogs.
